Loss of Load Probability

Loss of Load Probability
(LOLP)
  A measure of the probability that system demand will exceed capacity during a given period; this period is often expressed as the expected number of days per year over a long period, frequently taken as ten consecutive years. An example of LOLP is one day in ten years.
